Detailed 6-Day Express Itinerary

  • Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Depart Marrakech and cross the High Atlas Mountains via spectacular Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260m). Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, famous film location for Game of Thrones and Gladiator. Continue to Ouarzazate, visit Taourirt Kasbah. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
  • Day 2: Ouarzazate - Skoura - Dades Valley - Visit Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate. Travel through Skoura palmery with its ancient kasbahs. Continue to Dades Valley with its dramatic rock formations and "Monkey Fingers" rock shapes. Overnight in Dades Valley area.
  • Day 3: Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Merzouga - Morning exploration of Dades Valley. Travel to Todra Gorge for hiking and photography. Continue through Erfoud fossil area to Merzouga Desert. Evening camel trek into the Sahara Desert to watch spectacular sunset over the dunes. Overnight in traditional desert camp with dinner and Berber music under the stars.
  • Day 4: Merzouga Desert Experience - Sunrise over the Sahara dunes - an unforgettable experience. Return to Merzouga village by camel. Visit nomadic families and learn about desert life. Optional 4x4 desert excursion to explore the area. Relaxation time at desert hotel. Overnight in Merzouga.
  • Day 5: Merzouga - Rissani - Ouarzazate - Visit Rissani traditional market (market days: Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday). Drive back through dramatic desert landscapes to Ouarzazate. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
  • Day 6: Ouarzazate - High Atlas - Marrakech - Morning at leisure in Ouarzazate for last-minute exploration. Return drive across High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. Arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon. End of tour with drop-off at your accommodation.

This express tour packs an incredible amount of experiences into 6 days! From the moment we left Marrakech, every day was filled with breathtaking landscapes and cultural discoveries. Absolutely spectacular tour! The landscapes are straight out of a movie - which makes sense since many were film locations! Ait Benhaddou was incredible, the Dades Valley rock formations were breathtaking, and the Sahara Desert exceeded all expectations. The desert camp was comfortable with amazing food and traditional music. Our driver Youssef was professional and shared fascinating stories about Berber culture.
